Job Description

A leading organisation in Botswana seeks to appoint a highly experienced Director – Commercial to provide strategic commercial leadership across major capital, mining, infrastructure and EPCM programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight of commercial governance, contract management and procurement functions
• Lead capital project procurement strategies across underground and open-pit mining and infrastructure developments
• Oversee EPCM framework agreements, Tier 1 contractor selection and contract negotiations
• Ensure compliance with NEC, FIDIC and bespoke contracting environments
• Drive total cost of ownership optimisation, value engineering and supplier market development (including global markets)
• Strengthen governance, legal risk management and Board-level reporting
• Develop and mentor citizen commercial and procurement professionals

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in law, Commerce, Engineering or related field (B.Proc or equivalent preferred)
• Minimum 20-25 years’ senior commercial and procurement leadership experience
• Proven experience in Tier-1 mining and capital project environments
• Demonstrated expertise in EPCM frameworks, underground mining projects and large-scale capital programmes
• Strong background in commercial governance, contract management and stakeholder engagement
• Experience operating in regulated environments and working with executive and Board-level stakeholders
