HEAVY VEHICLE MECHANIC

Job Description

The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic will be responsible for providing a service in respect of engineering maintenance and servicing for mobile and gen-set equipment. Your key accountabilities include:

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining equipment using the appropriate maintenance technologies to ensure optimum availability of equipment/machines in the designated section, taking cognizance of standard operating procedures, safety directives and standards
• Performing over-inspections on tasks completed by apprentices, semi-skilled workers and artisan helpers and operatives, providing guidance if required, ensuring work quality
• Assessing equipment performance/condition and reporting all defects and anomalies identified
• Carrying out project related work according to set standards, plans and scheduled targets

Qualifications & Experience

• National Craft Certificate in Heavy Mechanics/ Diploma in Heavy Mechanic engineering or any relevant qualification
• Minimum of 4 years in heavy vehicle mechanic role
• Experience in mining industry is preferred
