Cleaning Supervisor

Job Description

Meremoth Cleaning Services is looking for a dedicated, highly organized and professional Cleaning Supervisor to oversee housekeeping, cleaning operations and lead our onsite team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising cleaning staff, coordinating daily cleaning activities, maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with health, safety and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities.
• Conduct daily inspections of cleaning areas and enforce strict standard operating procedures.
• Monitor and manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment to control costs and prevent shortages.
• Conduct and participate in Toolbox Talks and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Identify, report and assist in controlling workplace hazards.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and use of cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain cleaning checklists, attendance records and other required documentation.
• Report incidents, unsafe conditions and operational concerns.
• Provide effective shift handovers.
• Address employee performance and housekeeping-related issues.
• Communicate effectively with the Site Manager, SHE personnel and client representatives.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, accountability and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of a Certificate in Housekeeping Operations, Hospitality, Facilities Management or a related field.
• Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE)
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or team-leader role within heavy industrial cleaning, commercial cleaning, corporate facilities, or the hospitality sector.
• Thorough technical knowledge of industrial cleaning chemicals, color-coded equipment, and floor/surface care.
• Experience within a mining environment, Class B license and HSE knowledge will be an added advantage.
