Job Description

• Mookane Coal (Pty) Ltd, a coal mining operation based in Mookane, Botswana, is seeking to appoint an experienced Plant Foreman to join our operations team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of plant operations, ensuring production targets, safety standards, and equipment performance are consistently met. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader to make a meaningful impact within a growing operation.
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Plant Foreman within a mining environment
• Experience in a start-up or newly established mine operation strongly preferred
• Sound knowledge of plant processes, equipment, and maintenance requirements
• Strong understanding of mine health and safety regulations
• Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and manage shift teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Relevant technical/trade qualification (mining, mechanical, or related field) advantageous
• Valid driver’s licence
• Required to work shifts
• Supervise daily plant operations and shift teams to meet production targets
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
• Coordinate maintenance schedules and troubleshoot operational issues
• Monitor plant performance and report on production, downtime, and efficiency
• Mentor and manage plant personnel, ensuring discipline and productivity standards are upheld
• Liaise with management on operational planning and improvements
