Chief Internal Auditor

Job Description

To coordinate auditing of utilisation of government resources and monitor implementation of recommendations to improve risk management, control and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the Ministry on optimum utilization of public resources.
• Provide consultancy services on risk management, control, governance and information systems.
• Coordinate review of internal controls, risk management and information systems.
• Perform preliminary review of current audit files.
• Coordinate implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
• Undertake research and compile data for new framework/projects and recommend improvements in governance processes.
• Coordinate automation of internal audit processes.
• Coordinate follow-ups on outstanding issues from pervious audits and recommendations.
• Supervise development of work plans, capacity building plans and audit programmes.
• Supervise the implementation of the annual audit work plans.
• Prepare quarterly activity reports.
• Review and monitor performance of supervisees.
• Conduct staff meetings.
• Attend operations and management meetings.
• Facilitate Ministerial Audit Committee meetings.
• Prepare the budget and monitor implementation.
• Identify skills gaps of the supervisees, conduct on-the-job training and recommend relevant training when need arises.
