GROUP CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Job Description

Choppies Distribution Centre is seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and results-driven Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide financial leadership and oversee the Group’s financial operations, governance, planning, reporting, and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Group Finance function.
• Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
• Oversee treasury, cash-flow, working capital, taxation, and financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
• Provide strategic financial and commercial advice to executive management.
• Evaluate capital expenditure, investments, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor business performance and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and controls.
• Lead, develop, and strengthen the Group Finance team.
• Support the effective utilization and improvement of ERP and financial management systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• BICA accredited/member or eligible for membership.
• Minimum of 10 years’ senior-level finance experience, preferably within a Group or multi-entity environment.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, taxation, and working capital management.
• Proven knowledge of financial governance, internal controls, risk management, and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience in leading and developing finance teams.
• Strong, commercial, strategic, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Practical experience with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) will be an added advantage.
