Key Responsibilities

• Buying effectively and ensure sales growth within all Shoprite, Checkers and Usave stores.
• Managing national gross profit for all departments.
• Planning and executing promotional activities.
• Advertising and promotions management.
• Building relationships with local suppliers.
• Negotiating with local suppliers.
• Listing vendors and products for the division.
• Advertising spend recoupment.
• Product range and line determination.
• Product pricing administration.
• Managing national stock replenishment.
• Continuously sourcing new products to add value.
• Stock level issues resolution in the stores.
• Merchandising layout determination.
• Trainee Buyers and Buyers Assistant Management.
• Transfer of skills to Trainee Buyers and Buyers Assistants.

Qualifications & Experience

• Candidate should be in possession of a Degree in Business Management/Purchase and Supply chain Management/ Retail Management /Finance or any related qualification in the business field.
• Minimum of 3-6 years in a buyer position and including involvement in strategic planning, operational management and marketing preferable in retail sector.
• It is essential that the candidate possesses a driver’s license and be able to drive.
