Job Description

• UMS Botswana Pty Ltd (a division of the UMS Group) is busy with an underground vertical shaft sinking project with JDS Energy & Mining Inc. (the EPCM contractor) for Lucara Botswana (Pty) Ltd at the Karowe Diamond Mine at Letlhakane in the Boteti sub-district. This exciting project is currently in the Main Sink contract phase. Shaft sinking and underground construction activities require critical skills and experience with an expert understanding of sinking methodologies, underground construction, mine health and safety, as well as contract management knowledge, which is essential. We are currently searching for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to be considered for the below positions in Letlhakane. Please note that all positions are project based.
• The Project Resource Manager is responsible for the Management and Control of Project Resources and is dedicated to the specialised Sinking and Construction Environment. This candidate will report to the Shaft Sinking Project Manager and the UMS Chief Financial Officer.

• Relevant qualification in Financial Management / Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience relating to importing and exporting regulations and cross-border multi-order controls.
• Knowledge and experience in the Relevantant contract or system & the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
• Experienced managing a capital, human resource and administrative operations.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in a Sinking Construction Environment with at least 5 years in a Management role.
• Knowledge of Shaft sinking and Health & Safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications & Experience
