Seamstress

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in garment construction, alteration, repair, and custom tailoring. You should be comfortable working with a variety of fabrics, patterns, and sewing machines, and capable of following design specifications or customer requests with precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, sew, and assemble garments or fabric items according to patterns or specifications.
• Perform alterations, fittings, and repairs on clothing and other textiles.
• Read and interpret design sketches, patterns, and customer instructions.
• Operate sewing machines, sergers, and other sewing tools and equipment.
• Hand-stitch intricate details, embellishments, or finishes as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
• Collaborate with designers, tailors, or clients for custom tirings or projects.
• Advise clients on suitable fabric choices, garment care, and design modifications.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a seamstress, tailor, or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in hand sewing and machine sewing techniques.
• Strong understanding of garment construction and textiles.
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Ability to read and follow patterns and measurements accurately.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• High school diploma or equivalent, additional training or certification is a plus.
