Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically minded individual to join our team as a Trainee Underwriting Broker. This is a unique entry-level opportunity designed for a candidate who possesses a keen interest in the mechanics of risk and a desire to build a career within the specialized field of reinsurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Research & Analysis: Assisting in the analysis of client portfolios to understand risk exposure and identifying appropriate reinsurance capacity.
• Data Management: Compiling and organizing detailed underwriting submissions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data for presentation to reinsurers.
• Client & Market Support: Supporting senior brokers in the preparation of placement slips, market presentations, and renewal documentation.
• Technical Learning: Actively participating in internal training sessions to master the principles of underwriting, claims handling, and reinsurance law.
• Relationship Management: Developing professional relationships with reinsurers and cedants under the guidance of senior staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Strong academic performance is essential.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional numerical aptitude and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to articulate complex concepts clearly and professionally.
• Technical Proficiency: High level of competence in Microsoft Excel and the ability to adapt to specialized broking software.
• Attributes: Detail-oriented, resilient, and committed to the highest standards of professional ethics. A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn are paramount.
