Graduate Electrical Engineers (Internship)

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Graduate Electrical Engineer to Apply for our internship programme with our industry leading Building Services Engineering Team in Gaborone. The Intern shall work on various projects as assigned by a Project Manager or Senior Building Services Engineer. The Intern shall assist in planning, designing and directing engineering projects within the firm. The assignments contain specific tasks on project teams and these individuals are expected to use their education, intelligence and common sense to resolve the engineering problems and tasks they are assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• HV/LV (11kV/400V) Electrical distribution systems, General Purpose power, Interior lighting Design and Calculations Electronic systems, renewables, building management systems, earthing & lightning protection, Generator and UPS systems
• Preparing design computations, quantity estimates & develops probable construction cost estimates for smaller, less complex projects
• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software (including Dialux & PV SOL) and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
• Modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies and designs for projects
• Make calculations, using engineering formulas and skills for design such as load assessments

Qualifications & Experience

• Citizen of Botswana
• Engineering work experience required (Entry level)
• A BEng in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Minimal experience of computer operation for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting
• General knowledge of system design and applicable Building Services codes and standards
• Has a demonstrated ability to problem solve, communicate effectively to all key personnel and time management
