Risk and Compliance Manager

Job Description

Botlhale Cambridge International School is looking for a qualified and experienced Risk and Compliance Manager to join their team in Gaborone. Please review the key responsibilities and qualifications listed below for more details on this full time opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with all safety, health, labour, and risk management requirements applicable to the school.
• Developing, assessing, implementing, and monitoring risk management policies, procedures, and controls.
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, health, safety, and environmental risks.
• Overseeing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Managing administrative matters related to risk and compliance within the school.
• Conducting training and awareness programmes for local staff on safety, health, compliance, and risk management matters.
• Working closely with the Accounts, Transport/HR Officer, Bursar, and Teaching Staff to ensure the school remains compliant with all health, safety, labour, and operational requirements.
• Preparing reports and recommendations for School Management on risk and compliance issues.
• Coordinating incident investigations and implementing corrective actions where necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.
• Sound knowledge of risk management, compliance, occupational health and safety, and labour legislation.
• Strong administrative, communication, and training skills.
• Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
